iOS16 can only set wallpaper from shortcuts with legacy lock screen wallpaper(The first lock screen when long press to edit the lock screen).
But I deleted the legacy lock screen and cannot bring it back. So shortcuts set wallpaper not working any more.
This issue comes from iOS16 beta 1,2,3,4
The only way I think is to downgrade to iOS15(get the legacy lock screen) and update to beta version again. Is there any better way to solve it?

yeah me too! I had a really cool looking shortcut that changes the lock and home screen wallpaper dynamically to the curren Song combined and overlaying with my original wallpaper in a cool gradient but sadly its not working anymore and when it did work it only updated when i used the legacy wallpaper and only when I turned the phone off and on... so it wasn't automatic anymore :( please fix it i loved this short - plus a nice suggestion to add this as a feature for the wallpaper

I just updated to iOS 16 and I set up wallpaper profiles.unfortunately, the lock screen is always black, no matter what I do. The home screen changes, but my locked wallpaper is black :-(

Yes, I have a similar issue.in iOS 16.1 on an iPhone 12. Apple broke things badly with its new wallpaper implementation.
Specifically, I have shortcuts, which independently change the home and lock screen wallpapers so that add sunset each day my home screen changes to a different background and my lock screen. Also changes to a photo from my photo album. This worked perfectly until 16.1. Now, when those shortcuts run, I wake the phone to find a black background home screen, and sometimes also a black background lock screen. Rebooting the phone sometimes fixes this, but only temporary early. Other times rebooting does nothing to fix the problem.
It is ridiculous that Apple is now forcing users to choose one home, screen background, and pair that background to the lock screens. And iOS 16 and 16.1, the user is allowed to let the lock screen rotate through photos in an album, but is limited to the one home screen. Why?

Same with my phone. I can't downgrade as it is a company phone so seems we will need to wait for apple to fix this bug.
